A Dangerous Occupation. The extraordinary story of Albert Bedane , a Jersey man posthumously named Righteous among the Nations, Israel's highest honour, for saving a Jewish life in the Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands.
Bedane, a well-known physiotherapist, hid a Jewish woman and escaped Russian prisoners of war in his clinic cellar even as he treated German officers above.
Although Bedane died in obscurity in 1980, the recent discovery of 5,000 German documents means that his courageous story can now be told. Justin Leigh reports.
