Continuing the Herzog - Madman or Genius season celebrating film director Werner Herzog. On 23 December 1971, Juliane Koepcke was flying across Peru when the aircraft was struck by lightning. The only survivor of the crash, she spent two weeks lost in the Amazonian jungle as search parties tried to explain the plane's disappearance. Herzog, who was due to fly on Koepke's plane but was bumped at the last minute, tells her remarkable story. The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser follows.
