A rich variety of wildlife lives amid the desert scenery of Oman, including the Arabian oryx, a unicorn-like antelope that became extinct in the wild but was reintroduced after breeding in zoos. There's also the first ever footage of the Arabian tahr, an enigmatic mountain goat.
Rare rainfall creates short-lived pools where shrimps emerge from eggs buried in sand for years, while the mysterious mist known as the Khareef cloaks Oman for three months a year. Narrated by Ian McShane.
