Computers Don't Bite: the Beginner's Guide 7.30pm BBC2
Carol Vorderman presents a six-part beginner's guide to computers with Watchdog's Andy Webb and Adrian Chiles, presenter of BBC2's Working Lunch. It's part of a BBC initiative starting this week to help the millions of people who feel they are being left behind by information technology.
For families considering taking the plunge, the programme features a step-by-step guide to buying a computer suitable for both parents and kids. We see how self-confessed technophobe Vanessa Feltz fares with a portable gadget combining computer and phone. Home Front designer Anne McKevitt uses a computer to show a London couple how their home will look when it has been redecorated. And if you find computer jargon impenetrable, there is a user-friendly guide to computer terminology.
