Two thousand five hundred teenagers from riot-torn Toxteth, Brixton, St Paul's and other depressed areas were given the chance last summer to take a free holiday with the Army. Explorer John Blashford-Snell requisitioned the huge, disused bastion Fort George in the Scottish Highlands to let his young holiday-makers loose on the toughest adventure training scheme the Army could devise.
