Trotters, Pacers and Sulkies
For 200 years, in a derelict junk-yard among the factories of Walsail, the Oscar Johnson family have bred and trained ponies and raced them on trotting tracks all over the world. In Australia, New Zealand and the United States, Pony Trotting is now a big spectator sport, but apart from Saturday night meetings at Chasewater, it is on the decline in Britain. So, is Oscar Johnson 's seven-year-old grandson Edward the last of a long line of enthusiasts for pony-trotting in this country?
Author and countryman Phil Drabble grew up in industrial Staffordshire with the Oscar John-sons, and in tonight's programme he returns to their stables in Walsail in search of an answer.

Mary Quant , OBE, RDI, FSIA
/ wanted to make fashion democratic - Fashion was for me; for us; for everybody - not just for the few.
MARY QUANT , revolutionary, led the swinging British fashion scene which began with the mini-skirt and ' The Look' in the early 60s. Today, Mary is still swinging, but to a gentler rhythm-which reverberates in 114 countries around the world. Shy, surprising, witty and intense, Mary Quant realised quite early that ' Life is for Living '-and lives it unreservedly to the full.
