Paul Kammerer was the most brilliant and unorthodox biologist of his time. He was also the subject of the greatest scientific scandal of this century when he was accused of faking the experiments with salamanders and midwife toads that had rocked the scientific establishment in 1909. This programme reconstructs his life and scientists discuss the implications for today.
