Tonight: Sonata in F major, Op 5 No 1
With Camilla de Souza and Nathan Waks
by Michael Ashe
With Richard Pearson as Mr Foster, Bernard Hepton as Harry Gerwyn, Freda Bamford as Miss Foster, Ann Penfold as Sally Gerwyn.
An old tramp is found dead and there are signs that someone has tried to operate on his head. A youth disappears. The wife of Harry Gerwyn, a biochemist, suddenly goes into a coma that baffles the doctors... then Gerwyn's phone rings and the caller introduces himself as a Mr Foster. Politely he asks Gerwyn to visit him at a quiet suburban address. To all outward appearances Mr Foster and his sister are a perfectly ordinary retired couple, but they are in possession of scientific knowledge far in advance of Gerwyn.
