Starting at Singapore, he travels by road and rail through Malaya to Northern Thailand.

'You've got to be pretty fit to be a pilgrim... it's a bit like fire-works night down at the old bazaar.' In this second programme of six Johnny sees something of the mixture of races and religions in this most complex island of Singapore-a Hindu temple, a Muslim Malay wedding, and a Taoist pilgrimage by boat with hundreds of Chinese. He also sees old and new Singapore and visits a crocodile farm that is really a factory converting the living crocodiles into expensive handbags.
