or Life with a practical father
Written by Richard Wade.
Starring Dudley Foster as Edward Hastings, Deddie Davies as Sheila Hastings
In this final episode a thoroughly modern Hastings is faced with the problem of living up to four generations of inspired ancestors. In 1967 amateur geniuses have a hard time keeping up with professionals, but Edward seems to have no difficulty transforming the family Christmas into his own eccentric vision of 'life with a practical father'. Not only father but son and grandfather are involved this time - robot salt cellars, bath plug engines, and a strange new cooker for mother are some of the inventions made to work just in time for Christmas.
