Gordon Wilkins and Maxwell Boyd cover the 12th Tour de Corse.

This week for the first time British cars made a bid to break the long run of French success in the Tour de Corse, a 23-hour road race which begins and ends at Napoleon's birthplace in Ajaccio. Three Mini-Cooper S's were entered by BMC to challenge the Renault Alpines over nine hundred miles of flat-out mountain motoring. Paddy Hopkirk, Belfast-born winner of the Acropolis, Alpine and Monte Carlo rallies, spent a sleepless weekend in Corsica driving one of them. This is his story.
