Bibliomania
1/3. Buying. Ian Sansom , self-confessed bibliomaniac, explores the history and characteristics of the breed. The Rev Thomas Frognall Dibdin first identified the condition in his 1809 classic Bibliomania, or Book-Madness, "containing some account of the history, symptoms and cure of this fatal disease". Since then it has taken many forms, among them Ian Sansom 's own current obsession with the books no-one else wants.
