Michael Tippett Centenary
A concert recorded at the Barbican Centre, London, presented by Christopher Cook.
Ten years after giving the first performance, the LSO and Colin Davis return to the Barbican to play Tippett's final orchestral work, The Rose Lake , inspired by his 1990 visit to Senegal. A concert performance from the New York-based pianist Brad Mehldau , recorded at the Wigmore Hall as part of last year's London Jazz Festival. One of the most talented pianist of his generation, Mehldau is best-known for his work in a trio.
