Next week sees the reopening of the Royal Opera House, which closed for rebuilding over a year ago amid financial and political difficulties. Today Michael Berkeley talks to Jeremy Dixon , one of the architects of the restructured House, whose imaginative and welcoming design will, he hopes, encourage more people to use the building. His own musical choices are not focused on opera but rather on chamber and keyboard music, including Gustav
Leonhardt (harpsichord) playing Bach and Ivo Pogorelich (piano) playing Brahms. See the choice on page 134.

With Jez Nelson. Pianist Jason Rebello came to prominence in the 1980s as one of the new generation of British jazz musicians who exploded on the scene, among them Courtney Pine, Andy Sheppard, Django Bates and Steve Williamson. He has recently returned from a two-year break from the music business, and his fifth album, Next Time Round, was released earlier this year on Onion Records. Several tracks from the album feature in tonight's session, in which Rebello is joined by Jeremy Stacey (drums) and Orlando Le Fleming (bass). Plus Jazz on 3's monthly review of new CDs.
