Concert Orchestra and Singers in a new recording of this 1943 musical, a humorous indictment of the American suburban dream.
The show was the composer's greatest commercial success, although nowadays much of the score is known only to Weill aficionados. In this production previously neglected pieces are included.

Schulz was shot dead by a Gestapo officer. When Schulz's stories were published after the war, they revealed a dreamy and lost world of special potency.
