During the next few months Bernard Levin will be reporting for Radio 3 on some of Europe's music festivals, including Aldeburgh, Bayreuth and Wexford.In the first of his reports he savours the pleasures of the 43rd Maggio Musicale at Florence, which opened a few days ago with a new production of Verdi's Otello by the renowned Hungarian film and theatre director Miklos Jancso.
