dramatised for radio by CARLO ARDITO from the novel by ITALO SVEVO with
Zeno Cosini considers himself a failure at all things most men would achieve as a matter of course: at his studies, in his relationship with his father, his wife and his mistress, and in his business career. So he goes to see a psychoanalyst in order to give up smoking - if he can conquer that habit all will be well!
The play is set in Trieste in the early 1890s and up to the initial stages of the First World War.
