Fourteenth in a series of 28 programmes devised and introduced by Basil Lam
At its mid-point, the series reaches the composer whom contemporary writers compared to Virgil and Michel angelo. Even a small anthology, illustrating both his early and later styles, may suffice to show why a great 19th-century historian regarded Josquin as the supreme Renaissance master. by Ray Gosling 4: Eastbourne
' The shoreline is still strong, of one piece. And as you come closer from the sea to the shore you see there are no shops on Eastbourne Front. Not one neon sign, no advertising, no trading.
