A centenary portrait by WILLIAM ROBSON with Marjorie Westbury , Stephen Thorne. Norman Shelley Tovey is known to the musical world as the brilliant and witty professor who wrote Essays in Musical Analysis. The Tovey of this programme is the pianist and composer who was compared to Mozart when he first hit the London concert platform in 1900: who was adored by Joachim and Casals: and who founded an orchestra for Edinburgh.
