The hormone prolactin regulates the production of milk in mammals such as ourselves. But the same kind of hormone is found in reptiles, amphibia and even fish. What us: do salmon have for a mammalian milk producing hormone? DR J. M. TATA of the National Institute for Medical Research in London, describes the roles played by hormones and suggests that these substances may even control our behaviour and the ways that we think.
The eminent theoretical physicist Paul Dirac said almost 50 years ago that quantum theory had reduced chemistry to being merely a branch of applied mathematics.
