Presented by Bill Turnbull and Louise Minchin.
Live coverage of the 24th running of the annual road race through the capital, which follows 32,000 competitors on the 26.2-mile course from Greenwich to the Mall. Starts are at 8.55 (women), 9.15 (men) for the wheelchair races, 9.05 for the women's race and 9.45 for the men's and mass races.
In the men's event, Olympic gold medallist Gezahegne Abera defends the title he won last year with a dramatic sprint finish. The two men who crossed the line immediately behind him then - Italy's Stefano Baldini and Kenya's Joseph Ngolepus - are likely to feature strongly again, as are world champion Jaouad Gharib , two-time London winner Abdelkader El Mouaziz and top British hope Jon Brown.
In the women's race, the absence of reigning champion and world-record holder Paula Radcliffe is compensated for by the likes of Sun Yingjie, the third-fastest female in marathon history, former 10,000m and cross-country champion Gete Wami, New York champion Margaret Okayo, and Chicago winner Svetlana Zakharova.
Commentary by Steve Cram, Brendan Foster, Paul Dickenson and Ian Thompson, with reports from Sally Gunnell, Angellica Bell, Rishi Persaud, Phil Jones, Juliette Ferrington, Richard Nerurkar and Peter Elliott. Presented by Sue Barker.
Highlights at 6.40pm on BBC2. Executive producer Martin Webster
