The first of two episodes over the Christmas period (the second is on next Saturday) finds Holby A&E in a party mood - at least they will be, if Sonny manages to book a band and sort out a certain Mr B Alloon, who's floating around one of the cubicles.
There are plenty of seasonal malady storylines - including the Christmas pub quiz that, far from spreading peace and goodwill to all men, ends in a huge punch-up. However, the centrepiece is the hospital's annual party, where the usual seasonal smooching (and drinking) is taking place. Josh is certainly the worse for wear, Sam is drowning his sorrows over Lee, and Mark has a grin more suited to a Cheshire cat. But why are Christmas babies never born in a hospital bed?
