Choices
Children's Hospital: 8.30pm BBC1
Making the best of things is the name of the game in the casualty department as the hard-pressed staff continue to cope with the deteriorating building at the Birmingham hospital. It's not that the young patients don't notice, but their minds are on other, more pressing matters. Like Skye whose lip has been bitten by a dog and Charlie nursing a badly cut hand.
Kaylee's visit to the hospital, meanwhile, is far more of a red-letter day, for the ten-year-old may be able to hear properly for the first time in her life. She has already had an operation to implant an electronic hearing device and now she is going to discover if it has been successful. Nine-year-old Paul is receiving treatment for a puzzling heart condition. Consultant Joe Giovanni wants to find out why Paul's heart is beating so fast, but he's in for a surprise.
With Peter Sissons.
