10.20pm BBC1
Viewers with long memories will remember how Michael Parkinson set the standard for the chat show by making it a conversation piece. But even 20 or so years ago, sometimes the talk dried up - usually when Billy Connolly reduced the host to giggles. Now they are back together. As Parky says, he couldn't do a series without talking to Billy Connolly. The question is whether Parkinson can maintain his composure in the face of Connolly's comedy assault.
Natural history film-maker David Attenborough is also on hand, but when it comes tales of brushes with wild creatures in hostile conditions, he'll find it hard to top Connolly's anecdotes of his Glasgow years.
First transmitted in 1998. Parkinson's guests are Billy Connolly, who talks about acting, comedy and life, and Sir David Attenborough, with anecdotes from the world of animals. Show more
