Giving sight back to the blind by utilising their teeth may sound bizarre, but a new technique could make it possible. Until now the only way of treating a badly damaged cornea has been a transplant. Now an Italian surgeon has developed a method of manufacturing an artifical cornea from one of the patient's teeth. Tonight's programme follows the progress of the first British patient to undergo the treatment.
