Less well known than his notorious underachievement at school are Bart Simpson's skateboarding skills. Tonight they're put to the test as Bart is inspired by celebrity daredevil Lance Murdock to pursue a career in "death defying" (after all, Murdock tells him, the USA has the best doctor-to-daredevil ratio in the world). This is a witty episode centred on the close affinity between Bart and his father, Homer, and capped at the end by a throwaway ambulance-rescue gag that many Simpsons fans count among their favourites. Tape it and you'll chuckle every time you replay it.
