There may be food and water in abundance but will Roo survive in this different, hostile landscape?

The Police - in for Questioning
Britain's police are facing an unprecedented crisis of public confidence. In the wake of the Guildford Four case, the break up of the West
Midlands Crime Squad and the Wapping report, there is a widespread fear that the police bend the rules.
Panorama has spent a month filming with the police and looks at the problems from all sides. Some officers claim that safeguards have made the law little more than a charter for criminals while ordinary families tell of police planting of evidence, falsification of confessions and even blackmail. Jane Corbin reports on what the police can do to put their own house in order. Should the police investigate police misconduct or is it time now for a completely independent complaints procedure?
