The Benefits Shake- Up
From 11 April millions of people on DHSS benefits will experience big changes in the social security system.
They will face new rules, new DHSS jargon and - above all - changes in their income. The DHSS says that it's the people with the greatest need who will benefit most. But critics deny this and forecast that many will be worse off. In the first of a two-part Advice Shop guide to the reforms, Margo MacDonald looks at the way families will be affected.
This programme will carry sign language and subtitles for viewers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
Directed by HENDRIK BALL Series producer .
