Killer shrimps? Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water along comes one of these deadly creatures with a knockout punch that would make Barry McGuigan gasp in amazement - claws! They're called mantis shrimps and their strike is one of the fastest animal movements known - its impact is the equivalent of a .22 calibre bullet. They use jagged spears or huge clubs with devastating results.
They can even punch through glass and often batter their way out of aquaria. After this a plate of scampi will never taste the same again!
