From London's Waldorf Hotel Tom O'Connor brings a touch of summer to the drabness of winter, by introducing the 21 finalists in this, the first beauty competition of the New Year. During a cocktail party in the elegant Palm Court Lounge one lucky contestant will be crowned Miss Great Britain 1985, by the present holder, Debbie Greenwood. This year, for the first time, Miss Great Britain goes international with all the finalists appearing in Perpignan, on the Mediterranean, the twin town of Morecambe, home of the competition.
Interviewing the finalists from BBC Midlands Today, is Kay Alexander, while Ray Moore produces all the facts and figures.
