with Gerald Durrell
Most of us know that a few important species are endangered, but there are now literally hundreds of animals, birds and reptiles on the edge of extinction.
In this film GERALD DURRELL makes a passionate plea for us to take more care of the world we live in and the creatures that share it with us. He explains how in the next decades many more species will be unable to survive without help, and why this matters not Just to animal lovers but to us all. He shows us the work being done to save endangered species by means of captive breeding at his centre in Jersey, and at the Wild Animal Park at San Diego, California - and we accompany him and his wife LEE on a trip to catch a group of rare volcano rabbits in Mexico.
