Ten films about the wildlife of the seashore, presented by TONY soper. 4: Between the Tides
Animals that live between high and low tides are alternately covered by water, then dried out by the sun. How do they cope? Barnacles cover themselves with limey plates, limpets stick to rocks and periwinkles have a trap-door on their shells. And one of them is on the way to becoming a land animal.

Introduced by Geoffrey Wheeler from Glastonbury, Somerset
Long before the dawn of Christianity, Glastonbury had great spiritual significance. Pagan worshippers believed that the famous tor, which can be seen for miles around, was an entrance to a mysterious otherworld. News of Christianity came very early to Glastonbury - some say brought by Joseph of Arimathea - and it became the first British base of organised Christianity, centred on a simple wattle and clay church. Glastonbury continued to capture people's imagination, and by the sixth century it had a monastery with a perpetual choir - relays of choristers who filled it with song both day and night. Local people continue these long traditions today as they meet in St John's church to sing their
Easter Songs of Praise.

An Everyman special
After the bombs had fallen Coventry was rebuilt as a model city community based on civic wealth and personal reconciliation. People from all over the world came to claim a share of the city's industrial riches - and now a Coventry kid is as likely to be a Moslem or a Geordie.
The wealth is no longer there but the will to co-operate still lingers. This film is about Coventrians, their city and their beliefs, and at the time of the most fundamental Christian festival they look forward to their children's spring awakening in Coventry.
