'The seals that fought back from the edge of extinction.'
Summer comes to a remote sub-Antarctic bay. From the freezing waters the males battle for coveted patches of beach. Heavily pregnant, the females arrive and within days the bay is alive with woolly black pups.
Once they were slaughtered in millions for their fur. Now, unmolested by man, the islands ring to the calls of thousands of cows and their young.

Six strands in a web of intrigue.

Omnibus tells the extraordinary story of a man caught between two worlds. Son of Fox was a Navajo Indian who survived in his youth by hunting rabbits and crows, and gathering roots and seeds in the mountains of the American South-west. He spoke no English, had never even seen a white man.
Today, he is Dr Frederick Young , a nuclear physicist working on laser-initiated nuclear fusion. Within the space of a single lifetime, FRED YOUNG has bridged almost the entire span of human development.
Today, when the stress of moving between the two cultures becomes too great, he still goes back to the medicine men of his own tribe, who - ironically - view his work in the white man's world with suspicion.
In the film, we meet his brother, who spends his time between the bars and jails of Arizona, and his relatives, who live in traditional hogans in the desert. Where does Fred Young now stand, working within a culture that has almost totally exterminated his own heritage and his own people?
