An unusual space adventure set in the 21st century. After refusing to obey orders to abandon a vast space station and return to Earth, Freeman Lowell is left alone, lost in space, with only two robots for company. The Philips Night of Athletics from Crystal Palace
The Bannister Mile, organised to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Roger Bannister 's epic run, is one of the highlights of tonight's meeting which, as usual, provides a spirited curtain-raiser to the athletics season. Don Quarrie , Grete Waitz , Miklos Nemeth , Wilson Waigwa, and Bronislav Malin owski are among the foreign stars competing. David Moorcroft , Nick Rose , Mike McLeod , Kathy Small -wood and Sonia Lannaman lead the British challenge.
