This evening, in Minsk, the world's two great athletics nations meet on the first day of this full-scale international. The clash of these two giants invariably produces world and national records. The USA, fielding many of their top Olympic athletes, have high hopes of gaining their first-ever victory on Russian soil. But Russia, too, have many world record holders and Olympic champions, including their great sprinter, Valeri Borzov.

These Young People - a five-part investigation into this Britain through the eyes of the 18-25-year-olds. Alleged by an older generation to be an irresponsible, violent, drug-dependent crowd - 'These Young People' answer for themselves.

What do they think about family responsibility, politics and the monarchy - about work and leisure - about drugs and censorship and about patriotism?
'These Young People' - from all over Great Britain - have the opportunity to speak for themselves.
