Grand Canyon by kayak and raft
In 1869 John Wesley Powell became the first man ever to navigate the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River. A hundred years later a dozen of the world's top canoeists, backed by three rescue rafts, retraced Powell's voyage into uncertainty.
The film of that journey tells something of the history of the Canyon itself-its earliest inhabitants, and its geology, but above all it shows the excitement and danger of shooting one of the greatest rivers in the world.
