Gregory wanted to buy a picture of Jesus and His Mother, Mary, for Marta to hang in the kitchen - like the one she'd had in Russia when she was a little girl. But he had no money. So Gregory - who never made anything or spoke to anyone - made something wonderful just out of scraps and hard thinking, and he made a lot of new friends as well.
