A zany zigzag of puzzles and quizzes featuring The Scaffold
with special guest Deryck Guyler
and Wendy Padbury, The Fourmost

Inspector Boniface Investigates
and the answer to:
Three men in a restaurant are handed a bill for 30s. Each gives 10s to the waiter. At the cash desk however the waiter is told that a mistake has been made and that their bill only amounts to 25s. Since the three men do not know the true amount anyhow, he decides to turn the situation to his own gain. He keeps 2s himself and gives back 1s to each of the three. This means that the three have each paid 9s for the meal. Nine times three is 27s; 27s plus the 2s in the waiter's pocket is 29s. Where is the other shilling?
