A Special Edition from Japan including a preview of Expo 70
Introduced by Raymond Baxter
Poster in a Japanese factory:
Made in Japan... how come nobody sniggers any more...
The self-confidence it reflects is justified - Japan ranks second only to the USA in patent applications, and second to none in economic growth. In February it joined the 'space club' by being the fourth country (after USSR, USA, and France) to launch its own satellite with its own rocket. Now it plays host to the world at Expo 70 in Osaka. Ideas are abundant as cherry blossom. Nobody sniggers any more.

Highlights of one of tonight's top soccer fixtures as season 1969-70 draws to its final, exciting moments.

Do the British still dominate European soccer? Tonight should give the answer as the English and Scottish champions, Leeds United and Celtic, play their return matches in the rich and important European Cup.
Manchester City (in the European Cup Winners Tournament) with Newcastle and Arsenal (in the European Fairs Cup) are all doing battle for British club prestige.
Added to this is the annual clash between the Scottish and English Football Leagues.
