starring Max Bygraves, Shirley Jones
and Steven Stocker as Bobbikins
with Billie Whitelaw, Barbara Shelley
Written for the screen and produced by Oscar Brodney

When a fourteen-month-old baby begins to talk fluently his father has some difficulty in dealing with the situation, but further hilarious complications develop when Bobbikins becomes an infallible stock-market tipster as well!
Tonight's film is a novel variation on the 'talking mule' or 'talking dog' theme-this time it is a talking baby! Max Bygraves has one of his rare starring roles as the infant's father, and he wrote the words and music of three of the film's four musical numbers: Funny little clown,' 'Bobbikins' lullaby,' and 'Last night I dreamed.'

Your future is being created now - for better or for worse?

with Isaac Asimov - Science-fiction writer and biochemist; Dr. Herman Kahn - Director of one of the world's leading 'Think Tanks'; Dr. Grey Walter - Neurologist and science-fiction writer; Dr. William Simon and Dr. John H. Gagnon of the Institute of Sex Research Inc.; Thomas Pauling and Imogen Sutton of Form 2H1, Holland Park Comprehensive School

Science-fiction writers have been trying for decades to prepare us for 2001 and beyond. As more of yesterday's science-fiction comes true, we are forced to believe that some of the far-fetched prophecies being written now will also come true.

Not only science-fiction writers like Isaac Asimov and imaginative film-makers like Stanley Kubrick, but professionals in conclaves called Think Tanks, are now busy on what is becoming big business-prediction.

Tonight's documentary presents Interwoven patterns of prophecy from all these sources, plus the reactions and visions of those who must come to terms with the 2001 that prophets predict - the children of today who will have to live In it.

An insight into the life of the world-famous Russian pianist Emil Gilels
This Russian film, which includes some unique shots of 'old' Russia, interpreted through the music of Shostakovich, shows Gilels at work rehearsing, teaching, and performing works of Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Chopin and Beethoven.
At fifty-three, Emil Gilels, undisputedly among the world's finest pianists, is at the peak of his long and brilliant career which began at the age of six and progressed so rapidly that he gave his first concert at the age of thirteen. Besides leading a very active life as a virtuoso, touring extensively abroad, he is one of the foremost professors of piano at the Moscow Conservatoire, and in 1962 was awarded the Lenin Prize, the highest honour in Soviet art.

Richard Holloway is a priest of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
Over the last ten years he has engaged in active protest against slum landlords, corrupt democracy, and the Bomb.
Now, at the age of thirty-five, he is revising his ideas about the social hopes of Christianity.
Is this a personal failure of nerve or a major clue to the danger of selling the Gospel cheap?
