The first in the new series
Starring Thora Hird, Robert Keegan, James Grout and Henry Knowles

Like many people, Sarah Danby has in-law problems. In this case the problem is her son-in-law Keith Grafton, whose sports supply shop has just, quite literally, gone up in smoke! The thing is that Sarah guaranteed Keith, an ex-rugger player, the sum of £2,000. Now, with the shop in ruins, she has to make good that guarantee. However, the company that loaned the money are being surprisingly harsh about it and to her horror she finds out that the shop is not fully insured. Sarah faces bankruptcy with the knowledge that a bankrupt is not allowed to serve as a town councillor!

The sports programme with Britain's largest regular viewing audience. This is what the top television critics say about it:
I am such a sucker for sport (although I draw the line at wrestling and boxing) that I can seldom resist the mixed bag of talk and play-back featured in 'Sportsnight with Coleman' (Bernard Hollowood, of Punch)
A programme that I am fast getting an obsessional affection for (Virginia Ironside, Daily Mail)
This week's items feature live action from the World Ice Hockey Championships in Sweden-Canada v. U.S.A. The first time since the Winter Olympics of last year that the world's fastest sportsmen have gathered in competition.

A series of programmes to help you choose your next holiday

This week Holiday 69 goes sailing off the South Devon coast; 'drives off' on a golf package in Estoril; and samples the better vintages on a wine-tasting tour of the Cote de Beaune.
While Holiday 69 is being screened three travel experts, together with six researchers, answer viewers' queries by phone. If you have a question about the type of holiday the programme is dealing with and would like to talk direct to one of the experts, send a postcard to Holiday 69, [address removed] giving a phone number where you can be contacted on a Thursday evening.
