Mr. Wood has been a management consultant for fifteen years and he feels that only now is industry beginning to accept him as something more than a mere ' efficiency expert.' He believes that the cult of the amateur in management has had a pernicious influence and that a large part of the consultant's task is to introduce some science into a field where science has long been distrusted
