The impact of the wheels of railway coaches passing over rail-joints, ot shells on armour-plate, of golfclubs on a golf ball: these have something in common, and the golfer driving is a particularly interesting study because velocity is imparted by one human with no apparatus but a stick. Dr.
Christopherson, among others, recently became involved in this study and tells us by what means and with what results he has pursued it.
