6-Scientific Method in the Conduct of War
Talk by P. M. S. Blackett , F.R.S.
Professor of Physics at the Imperial College of Science and Technology Today, when the devastating power of atomic weapons dominates much of our military thinking, we are apt to abandon rational numerical thought about war and conclude that few useful lessons can be learned from the study of past wars. But such study, Professor Blackett argues, preferably in as numerical a form as possible, is still an essential guide to present actions.
