Talk by Arnold Noach
The clash between unregenerate Rococo and austere Louis-Seize is portrayed in a little-known novel by the French eighteenth-century architect Jean-François Blondel, which shows the Man of Taste wooed by two lady loves. Arnold Noach talks about the novel and about L'Education des Riches, a genre picture of the same period at present on view in London at the Royal Academy.
