Talk by Edward Sackville-West. Alain Fournier's novel was introduced to readers in an English translation by Havelock Ellis in 1928. A new English edition has just been published with the title "The Wanderer". The scene of the novel is the Sologne. Its characters, atmosphere and plot have caused much discussion among critics.
