On Baile's Strand, one of Yeats's first verse plays, tells of the fight between the legendary Irish hero Cuchulain and his unknown son, and of Cuchulain's death fighting the waves. The play headed the bill on the opening night of the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, on December 27, 1904.

The Mandaeans of Iraq claim to preserve among their sacred rites certain ancient ceremonies, in particular the form of baptism with which Christ was baptised by St. John. Lady Drower, who has made a close study of the Mandaeans for nearly forty years, speaks about these survivals and about her recent visit to record their ancient form of Aramaic.
