Part 1
Paul Sacher, who has won renown for his work (particularly on behalf of contemporary music) at Basle, is including in this concert two works by Swiss composers. Honegger's Monopartita, which is receiving its first broadcast performance in this country, was completed in Paris two years ago; Martin's Concerto was written in Amsterdam and Geneva in 1949.

Second of two illustrated talks by Franklyn Kelsey
In his first talk Franklyn Kelsey considered the art of tinging in its historical aspect with its greatest period, in his View, between the end of the sixteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century. This evening he talks about the ' lost secret ' in action.

Mikhael Prishven, writer and naturalist, was born in 1873. He thus belongs to the older generation of Russian writers, but he is popular in Russia today and still contributing to periodicals there. The Lake and the Woods describes the lives of birds, animals, and men during the course of the seasons in the country round Lake Pleshcheyevo.
