Carleton Hobbs
Mikhael Prishven, writer and naturalist, was born in 1873. He thus belongs to the older generation of Russian writers, but he is popular in Russia today and still contributing to periodicals there. The Lake and the Woods describes the lives of birds, animals, and men during the course of the seasons in the country round Lake Pleshcheyevo.
