A recital of pianoforte duets by Alec Rowley and Edgar Moy
The lives and work of Alec Rowley and Edgar Moy have run together: both were born in London ; they played duets together (four hands, one piano) from the age of ten years ; both were students at the Royal Academy of Music ; both are examiners at the Trinity College of Music ; and, last but not least, both made their radio debut together about six years ago, being pioneers on the air of duet playing on one piano. They have always made a feature of playing and introducing only original works (no arrangements) of a much neglected branch of music. Today's programme deals with original works connected with summer.
Alec Rowley possesses almost a complete library of every original duet ever written (the collection of a lifetime), and he has written a book shortly to be published, ' 4 Hands, 1 Piano '-the only work of its kind in existence.
